A Classic!

This weeks yoga pose is the classic Downward facing dog.

It’s one of my favorite ways to “check in”.

This pose allows my body to show me where I feel light and on the contrary, where I need to focus. It also lets the mind settle, find peace and connect with the breath. Yoga is really all about how you feel in a set pose and letting the pose work for you. Forget about trying to achieving a perfect looking pose. I want you to practise downward facing dog everyday this week and evaluate your state while finding a connection with your body and mind. Interested in the benefits?

Here they are:

Helps relieve mild depression by calming the brain
Stretches arches, calves, hamstrings, shoulders and hands
  Improves digestion
Therapeutic for asthma, flat feet, sinusitis and high blood pressure
  Relieves symptoms of menopause
  Helps prevent osteoporosis
Strengthens the arms and legs are they are the driving force of this pose

Alright Yogis, that sums up this weeks pose. Namaste!
